LIFE and DEATH 2 of 5

[GREEN: God ... YELLOW: Man ... ORANGE: sin / death / evi... BLUE: Hebrew/Greek]

This post will be looking at the Word of God in relation to DEATH and LIFE. The bible defines LIFE as Christ, whether spiritual or physical. I recently had someone say to me, 'I have a life besides my spiritual life'. If that be so, 'a life divided will fall.' The Word also defines DEATH making note of the spiritual and the physical. Life and death are more than 'events' - they are significant of each person's relationship with God in Christ and absolutely defines 'the wife of the Lamb'.

Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue:

The Hebrew alphabet has within its design the instruction for the body of Christ for developing and growing in 'the power of the tongue. Just as a parent waits for the baby to speak its first word and then become fluent in that language, so too God desires His children to speak their first Word and become fluent in the Word of God. Communi - - cation becomes communion when it is from the heart. It is the relationship of 'Spirit and truth' [John 4:23-24; 1John 3:18]. And it literally is a 'death or life' reality.

God's Word is 'living and active' [Hebrews 4:12]. The SPOKEN word [ALEF] does not return void (whether God's Word [Isaiah 55:11] or our own, which either brings comfort or strife, life or death. The mouth that speaks LIFE, 'I love you', can, without the Word of God in the heart, speak DEATH, 'I divorce you'. Words are life or death on a daily basis, and as such, can affect our physical life span. LIFE in this physical realm can terminate from disease, casualty, or from 'natural causes'. But even 'natural cause' is a misnomer, as death is not 'natural' due to (original) sin - the basis for all of the above. We often hear, 'God is sovereign - a time to be born, a time to die, it was 'his time'. But Jesus says we search the Scriptures for eternal life but that the Scriptures 'apply to HIM'. They apply to us - - THROUGH Him.

John 5:39
You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life;
and these are they which testify of Me.

Jesus Christ had an appointed time to be born, a time to die. A time to plant and a time to pluck what is planted [Ecclesiastes 3:2]. He came to redeem His people Israel and extend this salvation to all mankind. And at the appointed time - ALL of Judah will be plucked up [Romans 11]. His own gathered to Him, saved from the burning - and those who refuse Him [ncluding Gentiles] will be plucked.

Matthew 3:11-12
I [John] indeed baptize you with water unto repentance,
but He [Jesus] who is coming after me is mightier than I,
whose sandals I am not worthy to carry.
He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

His winnowing fan is in His hand,
and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor [Judah/Jerusalem],
and gather His wheat into the barn;
but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire."

Isaiah 5:7
For the vineyard of the LORD of hosts is the house of Israel,
and the men of Judah his pleasant
plant:
and he looked for judgment, but behold oppression;
for righteousness, but behold a cry.

Matthew 15:13-14
But He [Jesus] answered and said, "
Every plant which My heavenly Father has not planted will be uprooted.

Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind.
And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch."

Jesus Christ was born in the flesh [John 1:14] and he satisfied the 'appointed time for 'man' to die [Hebrews 9:27; John 19:5] Elijah, Elisha, Jesus, Peter and Paul all raised the 'physical dead', the appointment to die being met by HIM (to be discussed further in a following post). And there are MANY accounts yet today of receiving the 'dead' back to this physical realm. So how should we view 'life and death' - - according to the Word of God? Understanding DEATH and LIFE is crucial. Jesus sent out the twelve with the command to 'heal the sick and raise the dead':

Matthew 10:8
Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead,
cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give

Mark 16:15-18
And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the
gospel to every creature.
He who believes and is baptized will be saved;
but he who does not believe will be condemned.
And these signs will follow those who believe:
In My name they will cast out demons;
they will speak with new tongues;
they will take up serpents;
and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them;
they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

LIFE and DEATH begins with knowing Jesus Christ - the LIVING Word - and knowing our identity. Beginning with the first letter ALEF -
, the letters convey - ) Jehovah / Jesus l heart v mouth but moreover ...... ) Jehovah / Jesus l teaching (his children) v to speak (the Word of God). Each letter numerically confirms its message. Numerically ALEF confirms God's instruction to His children: A 1 L 30 F 80 = 111:

111 + ALeF + Wonderful + Instruction of children + Children of the Living God + All riches + Priests of the LORD + Came forth + Breath of Life (Ord) + Cleave to + He will command + House + And the Glory of the LORD abode (Ord) + The Beginning of Wisdom (Ord) + The law of truth (Ord) + The Lord My God + Thousand + Wait + All the proud [Biblewheel.com]

The second letter BEYT means house indicating family relationship. In Hebrew a man's 'house' is his WIFE. A man enters his WIFE to create a family. He enters his HOUSE to greet his family. That family is to 'grow / be weaned to the Word of God [GIMEL] 'crossing over' from death to life [DALET]. [ALEF] Jehovah / Jesus [BEYT] entered Jerusalem / Lamb's wife [Revelation 21] [GIMEL] as the Word [DALET] the power of LIFE & DEATH in His tongue. He will come again to greet His family. As we continue to grow and mature 'through the alphabet' we are 'working out our salvation' with fear and trembling [Philippians 2:12]. The alphabet ends with TAV / the sign of the cross - the letter of salvation and 'simple faith'. When we begin to speak and pray the Word [ALEF], we come to the place of 'simple faith' and salvation [TAV]. TAV as 'sign': a miracle regarded as evidence of supernatural power. Jesus Christ's DEATH on the cross then revealed the supernatural miracle - resurrection LIFE.

406 + TaV (Mark, Cross) + Thou (Atoh) + For a memorial in the temple of the LORD + I am the Almighty God + The Name of Thy God + The Lord Preserved + Eve (Greek) + With a Perfect Heart

Hebrew language expresses function while
Greek language points to form. A Greek would see a 'refrigerator'. A Hebrew would see its function [keeps food cold]. Greek recognizes a 'snake'. Hebrew 'hears its hiss'. Silence is not the absence of sound. It is not giving voice to 'vain imaginations and everything that exalts itself against the Word of God' [2 Corinthians 10:5] in order to give place to SPEAKING and SUBMITTING to the Word of God.

DEATH and LIFE are in the POWER OF THE TONGUE. But note the Scripture in context. It is the criteria of finding a wife:

Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue:
and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing,
and obtains favor of the LORD.

Death and life in the power of the tongue is significant of the Lamb's wife:

Revelation 12:11
And they [Christ's brethren] overcame him [the devil]
by the blood of the Lamb,
[life]
and by the word of their testimony; [tongue]
and they loved not their lives unto the death. [death]

The Hebrew word DEATH twm is pronounced mooth or maw'-veth and is defined as:

מות maveth {maw'-veth} from 04191; TWOT - 1169a; n m AV - death 128, die 22, dead 8, deadly 1, slay 1; 160 1) death, dying, Death (personified), realm of the dead 1a) death 1b) death by violence (as a penalty) 1c) state of death, place of death

The 'original sin' [Genesis 3] was unbelief in the Word of God 'you will surely die' [Genesis 2:17]. John 16:8 confirms SIN as UNBELIEF. JESUS CHRIST [John 1:1-14] declares He is the Word, the life, and light of men [John 14:6] the way, the truth and the LIFE. There is no continuous life outside of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ HAS OVERCOME DEATH and has the keys to death and hell [Revelation 1:18] What does that really mean for each of us?
