The Name of JESUS / YESHUA - 3 of 5

We have been looking into the Name of JESUS / YESHUA by its Hebrew letter spelling.

The first letter of the Name of Jesus is YUD, God’s HAND – His WILL / AUTHORITY.
His WILL / AUTHORITY is:

Matthew 6:10
Your kingdom come. Your WILL be done on earth as it is in heaven.

When Christ came in the flesh, His life showed forth 'heaven' by all that He said and did. Heaven, by its letters, reveals itself as 'fire and water' [Matthew 3:11-12]. His WILL for his people [1Thessalonians 4:3; Hebrews 12:14] is for sanctification, to be delivered from sexual immorality and the passion of lust. He who rejects this rejects God who has given us His Holy Spirit. [See posts 15 on 6-15 and posts 37 on 7-11 & 38 on 7-13]. We are to 'walk on the water of the Word' and have the 'fire of the Holy Spirit'.

The second letter HEI is a directive to BEHOLD, a letter pertaining to THOUGHTS, WORDS, ACTIONS. John the Baptist pointed to JESUS and declared, ‘BEHOLD the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. BEHOLD how he ‘walks’. Walk is the Hebrew word ‘halak’ which tells us to ‘behold a heart that suppresses evil’.

The third letter of the name of JESUS / YESHUA – SHIN - reveals God’s triune nature as well as His ALL-CONSUMING love for His people. This love, by its nature, is forgiveness, and will not only suppress evil, but overcome evil. According to Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburgh, SHIN is:

the flame [Divine Revelation] bound to the coal [Divine Essence]." A simmering coal actually possesses an invisible flame within it, which emerges and ascends from the surface of the coal when the coal is blown upon.

To me, a picture of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit – ONE – without separation, yet separate. The Father, Spirit, unseen, yet seen from the coal, Jesus, when the wind, the Holy Spirit, blows upon it. A wonderful image. Rabbi Ginsburgh continues:

One of the meanings of the word shin in Hebrew is shinui, "change." The coal symbolizes changeless essence, the secret of the verse: "I am God, I have not changed," meaning that relative to God's Essence absolutely no change has occurred from before Creation to after Creation. The inner flame is the paradoxical latent presence of the power of change within the changeless. The outer flame of the shin is continuously in a state of motion and change.

So like the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The picture of Messiah, JESUS / YESHUA continues in the name of SHIN which shows forth these various aspects of the meaning of SHIN:

A year; change; a tooth; scarlet (as fire); serenity; to sleep (be in exile); to teach; two; sharp; old;
viceroy (steward).

All the above have a 'common point' in their ability to CONSUME
A VICEROY is one who SPEAKS IN BEHALF OF A SOVEREIGN
His Word bringing a 'total consummation' of what is spoken.

Our God is a consuming fire.

If someone is 'on fire' - they are zealous - passionate. Our God is a consuming fire. God's consuming fire and His consuming passion is LOVE, a Hebrew word expressive of 'thoughts, words and actions' that make a relationship. A relationship of love and passion is not about words, but the 'demonstration of those words' - to the death.

Song of Solomon 8:6
For love is as strong as death, jealousy as cruel as the grave;
Its flames are flames of fire, a most vehement flame.

God's love is for all - He demonstrated that - but His favor is for his offspring, his heirs, who submit to his will and authority.

John 3
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son,

To have peace [el# shalom] one must SHa destroy Lo authority M of chaotic (worldly) wisdom. Should God (the Father) be separated from his sons because of foolish wisdom, or should a Mother (the Holy Jerusalem) be separated from her daughters who give birth to Israel's Son / sons? Shall those 'of the law' be 'against the law' which is to be written on the heart?

In Genesis 1, when God created the heavens and the earth, on day one He first called for Light. Jesus declares [John 8:12] that He is that Light. This Light was to not only divide the day from the night - darkness from light - but the Light was to CONSUME the darkness. On day two he placed a firmament in the sky - [raqiya (yqr: r HEAD q SEPARATION / CROWN y GRASPING ( DIVINE PROVIDENCE] to divide the 'waters above from the waters below - the 'wisdom above from the wisdom below' - and He called the 'raqiya' HEAVEN: FIRE & WATER:

Matthew 3:11-12
11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance,
.. but He [Jesus] who is coming after me is mightier than I,
.. whose sandals I am not worthy to carry.
.. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

God is not against flesh and blood, against people - He is against wickedness - on earth and in heaven. Revelation 12 relates that Satan is cast out of heaven when God's people ' overcome by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of their testimony and love not their lives to the death'.

For the believer, we are given to 'love one another as I have loved you' [1John 3:23]. As He has made his people as 'priests and kings [Revelation 1 & 5] to rule and reign with the Word of God [Ephesians 6:17].

When Jesus came in the flesh, He came in behalf of His Father, the sovereign King, speaking only what He saw and heard from His father [John 14]. He taught His disciples to pray, 'Our Father, who are in HEAVEN ... Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven'.
