For your Maker is your husband,
The LORD of hosts is His name;
And your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel;
He is called the God of the whole earth.
God is a husband to Israel, to those called by His Name.
Jesus came 'not to destroy the law, but to fulfill it'.
..........................................................FULFILL

In fulfilling the law, God is 'pointing to a heart with the power to suppress evil. 'Behold the Lamb who takes away the sin or the world [John 1:29-36]. No longer is there a fear of death. In fulfillment - death has no power over you. Grace abounds:
FULFILL:.............πληρόω ple-roo
to make full, to fill up, i.e. to fill to the full to cause to abound,
to furnish or supply liberally to fill to the top:
......so that nothing shall be wanting to full measure,
......fill to the brim
to consummate: a number
to make complete in every particular, to render perfect
to carry through to the end, to accomplish, carry out,
......(some undertaking) to carry into effect,
bring to realization, realize of matters of duty: to perform, execute to fulfill,
i.e. to cause God's will (as made known in the law) to be obeyed as it should be,
......and God's promises (given through the prophets) to receive fulfillment
As the 'Word [God] made flesh' He is 'man under law', now made one with the law, as the body, soul and spirit of the law. Being born a Jew, the (marriage) covenant of the law had dominion over Jesus 'as long as He lived'. But as Jesus became subject to the 'judgment' of the law, the verdict of death - His death severed the tie, that He was no longer bound to the law (or 'under law', under the judgment of the death penalty), but now free to embrace 'the Spirit of life'.
Romans 7
1 Or do you not know, brethren (for I speak to those who know the law),
...that the law has dominion over a man as long as he lives?
2 For the woman who has a husband is bound by the law to her husband as long
...as he lives. But if the husband dies, she is released from the law of her husband.
Jesus and the law were consummate - as one, the 'embodiment' of law. Israel was in a 'covenant' relationship [Galatians 4:24] with the law. Since Israel and the law 'were consummate', when Jesus the embodiment of the law died, his bride (Jerusalem / Israel) was released from the law and now free to pursue Christ in the 'Spirit of life'.
A woman [Jerusalem] was bound by law, to her husband [Jesus Christ], by law, while He lived. But her [Jerusalem's] husband [Jesus Christ] died [he was crucified and died] - so she [Jerusalem] was / is 'free from that law', (the law of sin and death), now free to embrace a 'new (marriage) covenant', the law of the 'Spirit of life in Christ'.
Romans 8
..2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus
....has made me free from the law of sin and death.
10 And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin,
....but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
The wages of sin is death [Romans 6:23]. We are spirit, soul, and body. Our spirit is alive in Christ. 'It is no longer I that live but Christ lives in me' [Galatians 2:20]. The soul (mind) is being transformed to the mind of Christ [Romans 12], but the body is dead because of sin. Death is a process, not always immediate, but nonetheless death.
Romans 8
11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you,
....He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies
....through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Death is overcome by the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead - - - 'the glory of the
the Father' [Romans 6:4]. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.
the Father' [Romans 6:4]. And it is the Spirit who bears witness, because the Spirit is truth.
[1 John 5:6]. ... If Christ, God's Word, dwells in you, in truth, He will heal your mortal body.
Sickness and disease is not from God, it is part of the death process.
Sickness and disease is not from God, it is part of the death process.
3 So then if, while her husband lives, she marries another man, she will be
...called an adulteress; but if her husband dies, she is free from that law,
...so that she is no adulteress, though she has married another man.
4 Therefore, my brethren, you also have become dead to the law through
...the body of Christ, that you may be married to another--to Him who was raised
...from the dead, that we should bear fruit to God.
We have become 'dead to the law', not to go out and do our own thing, but to abide in Christ, in forgiveness and repentance from sin. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. [Romans 8:2] We are yet under law, but now an even 'higher law'.
........Romans 6
........3 Or do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into
..........Christ Jesus [we] were baptized into His death?
........4 Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death,
..........that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father,
..........even so we also should walk in newness of life.
........5 For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death,
..........certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,
........6 knowing this, that our old man was crucified with Him,
..........that the body of sin might be done away with,
..........that we should no longer be slaves of sin.
........7 For he who has died has been freed from sin.
........8 Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,
........9 knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more.
..........Death no longer has dominion over Him.
......10 For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all;
..........but the life that He lives, He lives to God.
......11 Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin,
..........but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
......12 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body,
..........that you should obey it in its lusts.
......13 And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin,
..........but present yourselves to God as being alive from the dead,
..........and your members as instruments of righteousness to God.
......14 For sin shall not have dominion over you,
..........for you are not under law, but under grace
Shalom!
