In Genesis 1:2 - 'darkness' [confusion] is on the face of the deep (abyss). Jude 1:6 / 2Pe 2:4 relate that the 'angels that sinned against God were cast down into hell, delivered into chains of darkness, awaiting judgment.
God called for Light - and created created man in His own image, yet man sinned and became subject to death.
Gen 6:5 Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth,
and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
God sent [Noah's] flood to destroy wickedness from the face of the earth saving Noah's [rest] family.
After the flood the sons / grandsons of Japheth formed the coastlands of the Gentiles [Gen 10:5], and the sons / grandsons of Ham produced Nimrod [the VALIANT ONE but the REBELLIOUS ONE] who established BABEL.
GENESIS REVELATION
NImrod and BABEL: REBELLION begins In the beginning, at the TOWER of BABEL,
with the CONFUSION of mixing oneself the people were 'one' with 'one language'.

She says in her heart ''I sit as queen,
am no widow, will not see sorrow
her plagues will come in one day-
death and mourning and famine
she will be utterly burned with fire ...
Daniel: Judah was captive in Babylon under King Nebuchadnezzar: 'may Nebo [god of wisdom and writing] keep the crown'. Nebuchadnezzar's prideful claim of building Babylon himself ended in a beasts heart being given him and 'seven years' of abasement until he confessed that God Most High rules.
Tha battle with Babel / Babylon is long and drawn out, subtle, but in the end, in one hour, Babylon is destroyed and the kingdom of God and His Christ will rule.
Mat 24:6 you will hear of wars and rumors of wars
Mar 13:7 wars and rumors of war
Luk 21:9 when you hear of wars and commotions (disorder),
Rev 6:1 FIRST SEAL: The Conqueror - White horse
He who sits on horse has BOW and CROWN.
[Revelation 19:11]
Zechariah 9:13 For I have bent JUDAH MY BOW fitted the bow
with EPHRAIM [double ash-heap /doubly fruitful],
and raised up your sons, Zion [parched place],
against your sons, O Greece [wine], and made you like the sword of a mighty man.
*Jerusalem has been a 'double ash heap' with the destruction of both temples.
In Hebrew, ZION prefixed with the letter TZADI / FISH HOOK.
means 'to HUNT' and forms GREECE, 'the WINE (wrath)'

Rev 6:3 SECOND SEAL: Conflict on Earth - Red Horse
PEACE taken from earth / people killing one another;
given a great sword (machaira: for killing beasts).

Mat 24:7 famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
Mar 13:8 earthquakes .. famine and troubles [commotion; sedition]
Luk 21:10 earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences;
fearful sights and great signs from heaven
Rev 6:7 FOURTH SEAL: Widespread Death on Earth - Pale horse
And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth,
1 to kill with sword; rhomphaia : Thracian [Turkey] javelin
worn on right shoulder
2 with hunger
3 with death
4 and by the beasts of the earth.
Matthew and Mark speak of TRIBULATION AFTER the beginning of SORROWS [the opening of the seals?]. Matthew says, 'Pray your flight not be in WINTER [Tevet, Shevat (rod), Adar [Purim (?)/ persecution of Jews /blasphemy of betrothal] or on the SABBATH [Rosh ha Shanah / Yom Kippur, or Lord's Day (?)].
Mark says, 'Pray your flight not be in WINTER - designating it as the time of GREAT TRIBULATION'. Luke mentions neither, but warns not to go after false christs/prophets, catastrophic events, and 'when you see JERUSALEM SURROUNDED BY ARMIES - THESE are the DAYS OF VENGEANCE and DESOLATION is near.
Since the days of Christ, to include the apostles, there has been severe 'persecution' / tribulation / killing of God's people - this aside from the 7 year tribulation period, the last half which is the GREAT TRIBULATION. The 5th seal is the 'cry of martyrs' - WITNESSES - of Christ who are killed for their faith - - which appears to be 'prior' to the 7 year tribulation period.
Mat 24:9 THEN they will deliver you up to TRIBULATION AND KILL YOU,
AND THEN many will be offended, will betray and will hate one another
THEN many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.
Mar 13:9 for they will deliver you up to councils,
AND you will be beaten in the synagogues.
You will be brought before rulers and kings
for My sake, for a testimony to them ...
NOW brother will betray brother to death,
and a father his child; children will rise against
parents and cause them to be put to death.
Rev 6:9 FIFTH SEAL: The Cry of the Martyrs
How long, O Lord, holy and true,
until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?
white robes given [See Revelation 7:9] Multitude from Great Tribulation
rest until both the number of their fellow servants AND brethren,
who would be killed as they were, WAS COMPLETED.
Mat 24: 13 He who endures to the END will be saved.
And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in ALL the world
as a WITNESS to all the nations, and THEN the end will come.
Mar 13:13 But he who endures to the END shall be saved.
