The sixth letter of the Hebrew alphabet is VAV which means
HOOK. Its ancient symbol was a
'tent peg'. Recall the 2nd letter beyt, the ancient symbol a ‘tent’,
the place of family relationship.
The VAV Is the anchor of the ‘tent’.
The ‘name’ of this letter is the UPRIGHT MAN or also called
STRAIGHT LIGHT because of its ‘laser form’. When Saul was on the road to Damascus (silent is the
sackcloth weaver), he was struck by a bright light and told to go to the ‘street
STRAIGHT’, where he would receive his sight. Saul / Paul was also shown the many things he would suffer
for the cause of Christ.
When the 'tent of meeting' was built, VAVIM were ‘hooks’ that held the
curtains in place. VAV is often
translated as the word AND indicating a CONNECTION point. When you view a Torah Scroll, almost
every page, considered a ‘curtain of light’, begins with a VAV.
In Revelation 5 the 'scroll' is written on 'both sides' sealed with seven seals. Revelation 6 describes the first 6 seals. In Matthew 24, the apostles ask Jesus about the 'end of the age'. It is here that Jesus gives insight to these seals:
Matthew 24:3
Tell us, when will these things be?
And what will be the sign of Your coming,
and of the end of the age?”
24:6 First: You will hear of wars and rumors of wars - - but the end is not yet.
24:7 Second: For nation will rise against nation,
24:7 Third: and kingdom against kingdom
24:7 Fourth: And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.
24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
24:9 Fifth: THEN they will deliver you up to TRIBULATION AND KILL YOU,
24:10 AND THEN many will be offended,
will betray one another, and will hate one another.
24:11 THEN many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.
24:12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

Revelation 6 begins alluding to WAR revealing a 'white horse' , its rider a CONQUEROR -having a BOW and a CROWN. The horse is then seen as 'red', not peace, but war, the horse turns 'black' with troublesome laws regarding 'buying and selling', and then the 'pale horse' brings death to 1/4 of the earth. The Word tells us that this is JUST THE BEGINNING of travail / birthpangs, and that just as Christ was betrayed by Judas, betrayal and death - TRIBULATION - awaits Jew and Gentile for those who stand in the faith of God JESUS CHRIST. AND THEN - - the end will come. So the question comes - - where are we in this process? Is our faith - -- real faith - unwavering faith ? Matthew and Mark relate martyrdom following the 'beginning of sorrows'. Luke notes martyrdom also precedes the 'beginning of sorrows, and indeed it has for many - - for Jews (Holocaust and much more) and Christians alike - -since the time of Christ.
