THE FIRST LETTER YUD

The first letter of the name of God - Jehovah - is YUD. This letter also serves as the first letter in Isaac, Jacob, Israel, Jerusalem, Judah / Judas - - and JESUS whose name means SAVING HEALTH. YUD is the first letter of the Name of JESUS / YESHUA.

YUD is known as the 'initial point', the beginning (and ending) of all that is written.

John 1:1-2
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God.

According to Rabbi Yitzchak Ginsburg: 'this point is the power of the Infinite to contain finite phenomena within Himself and express them to apparent external reality'. And indeed Jesus is the 'alpha and omega, the beginning and the end' [Revelation 1:8-11, 21:6; 22:13] having the power to contain finite phenomena within Himself and express Himself to external reality:

John 1:14 And the Word became flesh [finite] and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

The numerical value of YUD is 10, a number expressing ordinal completion. There are 10 commandments. There were also 10 plagues. When Abraham prayed he started with 50 righteous - he ended not with one but with 'ten'. God says of the 'tenth': 'it shall be holy'. The 10th day of the seven month - Yom Kippur - is the Day of Atonement, said to be the 'holiest day' of the year.

Leviticus 27:32 And concerning the tithe of the herd or the flock,
of whatever passes under the rod,
the tenth one shall be holy to the Lord.

God's HAND is a 'hand of friendship' but it is also the expression of His will. When a king raises his hand, a servant immediately carries out the King's word which is His will. A King who can not establish his word is dethroned from power. Ecclesiastes declares:

Ecclesiastes 8:4 Where the word of a king is, there is power, and who may say to him, "What are you doing?"

God affirms that HIS Word will not return void, but will prosper in that thing for which it is sent:

Isaiah 54:11
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth;
it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please,
and it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

THE BELIEVER WHO RECEIVES

Just as the first letter of Jesus Name declares God, when we receive Jesus we also are to declare God - being subject to, and carrying out - God's will:

God's desire for his children - the initial point - is to grasp His will - grasp His Word - His Word on our tongue - and to walk in the light of that Word. Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks - and that which we speak - we do - we walk.

1 Thessalonians 4
1 Finally then, brethren, we urge and exhort in the Lord Jesus
..that you should abound more and more, just as you received
..from us how you ought to walk and to please God;
2 for you know what commandments we gave you through the Lord Jesus.
3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification:
..that you should abstain from sexual immorality;
4 that each of you should know how to
..possess his own vessel in sanctification and honor,
5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God;
6 that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother
..in this matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such,
..as we also forewarned you and testified.
7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.
8 Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man,

Christian - are we committed to the Word of God? We can attend Saturday / Sunday service, go to bible study, give to the poor, do good deeds for your neighbor, but if God's Word is not written on our heart - testified to by our 'obedience to the Word' - we lack the relationship in God that he is calling us to. God is willing to forgive our sin, but as many as he healed, his departing word was 'Go and sin no more'. Therefore it remains that the law must be written on our heart - the initial point - our sanctification - to abstain from sexual immorality. If we reject this - -we reject God.

The first letter of the name Jezebel - 'she who is not chaste - who is not a virgin' - is YUD.

The first letter of 'saving health' is God's hand extended to 'raise us up' from all Jezebelic immorality, all corruption and disease.
