MEM is the 13th Hebrew letter. As a letter it expresses wisdom that is to be like 'clear flowing WATER', that brings life to everything it touches. The 'final MEM - MEM Soffit - is the letter of MESSIAH. In God, 13 is God's 'personal number'. It is the number of ONE and also LOVE. God is ONE and God is LOVE. On the side of rebellion and superstition, of which most of us are familiar, 13 has been associated with all kinds of evil and the anti-christ. The 13th chapter of Revelation reveals 'evil' on the horizon.

The Beast from the Earth

11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth,

12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence,
....and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast,

John stands on the 'sand of the sea' and sees a BEAST rising 'out of the sea' intent on using his authority to bring Jerusalem into submission - by marriage to the world system.
BEAST, as applied to a person, suggests someone who has a 'violent nature' - an 'inhumanely, violent, cruel, depraved person. One that could also be called 'filthy, drunken', acting as a 'brute beast'. A 'beast character' is one that is totally the opposite of the 'image of God'. The Greek word for BEAST: 'therion' is used 38 times in the NT - 30 of those references in the book of Revelation, also referencing 'the WOMAN and the BEAST. Revelation 13 [WISDOM / MESSIAH] and 17 [MOUTH] stand out for references. The BEAST, therion, differ from the 'beasts / dzo';-on' around the throne. THERION, thay-ree'-on, is called a 'wild beast, a venomous beast and by definition:
