I was reading in areas of 'deliverance ministry' that when you become 'saved' that it is your 'spirit' that is 'saved' - the spirit of Christ indwells our spirit. Christ and sin do not coexist. Dickerman compares it to the 'tent of meeting': the outer court (the body), the Holy place (the mind), and the Holy of Holies (the spirit). The high priest entered the Holy of Holies, in the presence of God and the mercy seat, with the blood of the sacrifice. He himself had to be right with God or he would encounter death. As such Dickerman relates that, once saved, sin does not dwell in our spirit, but that demonic forces are able to attack our mind and dwell in our flesh. Just as Christ cleansed the temple of those who did not keep His Father's house, a house of prayer, we are to cleanse our temple of anything that is not 'holy'.
Paul makes a statement: 'It is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me'. 'If I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it - but sin that dwells in me.' This we know, that sin brings death and does not coexist with heaven. Satan may not be able to kill your spirit, but He works at poisoning your mind and bringing premature death to your body.
Dickerman makes the point that 'sins are definitely forgiven by the blood of Christ - but that often the demons of those sins will remain with the person (body) if they are, in fact, not cast out. As such you see many troubled Christians.

13 Has then what is good become death to me? Certainly not!
....But sin, that it might appear sin, was producing death in me
....through what is good, so that sin through the commandment
....might become exceedingly sinful.
14 For we know that the law is spiritual, but I am carnal, sold under sin.
15 For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do,
....that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do.
16 If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good.
17 But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me.
18 For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) nothing good dwells; for to
....will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find.
19 For the good that I will to do, I do not do;
....but the evil I will not to do,that I practice.
20 Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it,
....but sin that dwells in me.
21 I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good.
22 For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man.
23 But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind,
....and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.
24 O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?
25 I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord!
....So then, with the mind I myself serve the law of God,
....but with the flesh the law of sin.
Luke 4:18
"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me
to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
to preach liberty / deliverance to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind,
to set at liberty those who are oppressed ...
Isaiah 61:1
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me
to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
to proclaim liberty to the captives,
and the opening of the prison to those who are bound ...

.................... MIND..........CONNECTION....... BEGINNING.......LIFE & DEATH
The church of Smyrna (Revelation 2), church of the martrys, is the 'flowing of myrrh'. They are free from the 'fear of death', loving their lives 'not - to the death'. LIFE & DEATH are in the power of the TONGUE. DELIVERANCE BEGINS WITH THE CONNECTION OF THE MIND to the WORD OF GOD.

We are BOUND to our MASTER - JESUS or SATAN - and 'what we speak' will reveal our MASTER. Just thoughts I am pondering at this point. Selah!
