SILVER and GOLD, I have none! ........................................ But what I DO HAVE

[GREEN: God ... YELLOW: Man ... ORANGE: sin / death / evil.. BLUE: Hebrew/Greek]
PINK: physical death vs eternal death

Acts 3:6
Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none;
but such as I have give I thee:
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

The first mention of silver and gold is in

Genesis 13:2
[13 MEM wisdom of Word - 2 BEYT relationship]

'And Abram was very rich in cattle, in SILVER, and in GOLD.'

Note that after the first mention of silver and gold in the Scriptures, the Word relates Abram [the high Father], rising up to walk, his journeys which took him to a place between Bethel [house of God] and Ai [heap of ruins]. We share in this same journey. Selah. It was also at Ai that Israel met its first defeat in the conquering of the promised land. Achan, son of Carmi, son of Zabdi, son or Zerah, of the tribe of Judah was told to take nothing of the 'spoil of that city' because it was dedicated to the Lord. But Achan coveted a 'Babylonian garment' and the gold, so he took it and 'hid it in his tent'. Taking the accursed thing kindled God's anger. Achan: troubler, son of Carmi: the vineyard, son of Zabdi, endowed, son of Zerah: to rise, shine, of the tribe of Judah: he will be praised. A son of the vineyard, endowed with his Father's inheritance, to rise, rule as a prince, taking for himself, what was dedicated to the Lord.

The next time silver and gold are mentioned [Genesis 24:35] it is given to Abraham's servant Eliezer of Damascus [God is help - silent is the sackcloth weaver], as he is sent in search of a wife for Abraham's son Isaac: one who laughs at / mocks death - It is God, our High Father who is searching for a bride for His son Jesus Christ: one who laughed at and mocked death by His resurrection from the dead verified by witnesses [1Corinthians 15:6]

1 Peter 1:3
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again
unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

'Silent is the sackcloth weaver': Sackcloth is a 'mourning garment' [Genesis 37:34] brought forth when Jacob [the supplanter (below the sole)] was mourning for the loss of his son Benjamin [son of the right hand]. Jesus Christ, the supplanter, God's Son, exalted to the right hand of His Father, with all power and glory, til all is put under His feet. The word 'sackcloth'
q# has the gematria 400 the value of TAV / salvation / the cross.

Ephesians 1:22-23
And He put all things under His [Jesus] feet,
and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,
which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

The silver and gold were given to Rebekah [the ensnarer / from a root meaning to clog (impede movement, tie a foreleg) of a horse to keep it from running]. The books of Zechariah and Revelation give vision to horses waiting to be loosed. [See Zechariah 1, 6, 10 & 14; Revelation 6, 9 & 14]

Jeremiah 12:5
If you have run with the footmen, and they have wearied you,
then how can you contend with horses?
and
if in the land of peace, wherein you trusted, they wearied you,
then how will you do in the swelling of Jordan [descent (into death)]?

The horses run [Revelation 6:2] the conqueror, [6:4] the sword, [6:5] weighed in the balances, [6:8] death and the the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held. As committed Christians we need to ask ourselves when 'horses are running' will we have the 'testimony of Christ'? Able to overcome by the blood of the Lamb, the Word of our testimony, not loving our lives to the death? Not if the footmen - having our feet shod with the peace of the gospel / the devil under our feet - has wearied us. Not if we are yet caught up in IDOLATRY. [Revelation 7] 144,000 are sealed and are dedicated to God, having the Father's name written in their forehead. As their bridegroom Christ, they are of like kind. Are we of like-kind?

Revelation 11:8
And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city,
which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt,
where also our Lord was crucified. [Jerusalem]

'Silver and gold' is next mentioned in Genesis 44 [ the gematria of blood], Joseph's brothers find the precious metals that Joseph [Jehovah has added] placed in the mouth of their sacks.A friend dropped by the other day and we shared in the study of Exodus 15, the chapter which relates the Song of Moses. Jehovah, a man of war, throws the horse and its rider into the sea. [Exodus 15:26] God then reveals Himself as Jehovah Rapha )pr [the Lord your Healer], promising to spare Israel from the diseases of Egypt [the besieged'], if they would give ear to His commandments. It was noted that for God to introduce Himself as Healer, 'who was healed'? Israel to 'be healed' and 'keep their healing', they would need deliverance from idolatry. That deliverance and healing can only be met in the cross of Messiah/Christ as the Hebrew word depicts. IDOLATRY is flanked on its end by TAV / the cross and MEM Sof / the Messiah then revealing its 'root word' rapha, to heal. Deliverance from IDOLATRY reveals God's will of et tam/perfect - )pr rapha/health- HEALING.

In submitting His mind and mouth to the Word of God, Jesus Christ opened the door of HEALTH for us. By His stripes, we HAVE BEEN healed. He took our sin upon Himself, that we CAN walk in HEALTH.

Healing comes in submitting our mind and mouth/speech to the Word of God. If there is a battle in our heart between the flesh and the spirit [Galatians 5:17] we need to cry out for deliverance from the spirit of IDOLATRY.

3 John 1:2
Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health,
even as your soul prospers:
ευοδοω euodoo

ευοδοω euodoo {yoo-od-o'-o} from a compound of 2095 and 3598; TDNT - 5:109,666; v AV - prosper 3, have a prosperous journey 1; 4 1) to grant a prosperous and expeditious journey, to lead by a direct and easy way 2) to grant a successful issue, to cause to prosper 3) to prosper, be successful

A 'prosperous journey? Yet encamped between Bethel and Ai.
We must choose WHOM and WHAT we will serve.
Silver and gold, the idol we mold it into, rather than build the tabernacle,
or the Spirit of God.

The world speaks of PROSPERITY in terms of wealth and health. God speaks of PROSPERITY in terms of WORSHIP. Man desires for 'silver and gold' to provide for himself. The word silver, keceph, comes from a root meaning 'to desire'. Gold, zahav, means to 'shimmer; shine with a soft tremulous light'. But is not 'to desire to shine with a soft tremulous light' describe Christ and the prosperity we desire for our own life? True worship has a sense of what is dedicated to the Lord, knowing that nothing that I have can be held back:

In Exodus 3, 11 & 12 [GIMEL, KAF, LAMED: reward/punishment, hand, heart], Moses instructs Israel to ask [demand] of their Egyptian neighbors jewels of silver and gold. Why? They are headed out to the wilderness. What possible use would silver and gold serve in a desert where even water is scarce? Would it not have been better to collect weapons for food and protection for such a journey?

Israel was to bring the gold and silver and with it construct the tabernacle dwelling for the Lord's presence and He Himself would provide for them. But in Moses absence, they instead made a 'god / idol' of it and bowed down and worshipped a golden calf.
CALF in Hebrew comes from a root meaning 'round' as in following a 'cycle' of nature. This act signified 'a change of gods', a return to idolatry. At a later time Ezekiel [a prophetic chapter] relates this stronghold again:

Ezekiel 20:7-8
Then said I unto them, cast ye away every man the abominations of his eyes,
and defile not yourselves with the idols of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
But they rebelled against me, and would not hearken unto me:
they did not every man cast away the abominations of their eyes,
neither did they forsake the idols of Egypt: then I said,
I will pour out my fury upon them,
to accomplish my anger against them in the midst of the land of Egypt.

We too, are called to worship in spirit and truth, with our whole heart, with our 'silver and gold' to seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, with the promise that all else will be added to us.

BONDAGE, עבדה abodah, from the root
עבד `abad {aw-bad'}
a primitive root; TWOT - 1553; v AV - serve 227, do 15, till 9, servant 5, work 5, worshippers 5, service 4, dress 2, labour 2, ear 2, misc 14; 290 1) to work, serve 1a) (Qal) 1a1) to labour, work, do work 1a2) to work for another, serve another by labour 1a3) to serve as subjects 1a4) to serve (God) 1a5) to serve (with Levitical service) 1b) (Niphal) 1b1) to be worked, be tilled (of land) 1b2) to make oneself a servant 1c) (Pual) to be worked 1d) (Hiphil) 1d1) to compel to labour or work, cause to labour, cause to serve 1d2) to cause to serve as subjects 1e) (Hophal) to be led or enticed to serve ) to labour, work, do work 1a2) to work for another, serve another by labour Sounds familiar. 'To be led or enticed to serve; to labour, work, do work; to work for another, serve another by labour. Bondage was to Egypt - to being 'under siege. [Does our work have us, or do we have our work that we can serve the Lord? Does our silver and gold advance the kingdom of God, or desires for pleasure - the golden calf - that war in our members? Do we jeopardize our health and family relationships putting in long hours that we can obtain the world's goods for ourselves? All lust, whether for goods, sex, food, etc. have the capacity to injure the cells of the body, destroy one's health, bringing death.

IDOL, GREED, COVETOUSNESS and PROFIT share the same gematria.

In ending the study of Exodus 15 the question was asked, 'what was Pharaoh's motive for pursuing the Egyptians to the Red Sea? The lust for power, the return of his labor force that poured money into the Egyptian economy? Or did he, who declared himself a god, simply want the gold and silver back?

James 4:1-8
Where do wars and fights come from among you?
Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members?

You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain.
You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask.

You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss,
that you may spend it on your pleasures.

Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship
with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore
wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain,
"The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously"?

But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: "God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble."
Therefore submit to God.
Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Cleanse your hands, you sinners;
and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

1 Timothy 6
Now godliness with contentment is great gain.
For we brought nothing into this world,
and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
And having food and clothing, with these we shall be content.
But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation
and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts
which drown men in destruction and perdition.

For the love of money is a root of all evil

philargyria: loving money, covetous for material gain

for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness,
and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue
righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.
Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life,
to which you were also called and have confessed the
good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Acts 3:6
Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none;
but such as I have give I thee:
In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

Prosperity is a journey that we take, walking toward the Bethel [the house of God] or towards Ai, the ever glorious 'I' and end up at the 'heap of ruins'. Silver and gold can not save your health, it can not save your life, does not increase your worth in God's eyes, and does not stop death.

Selah
Shalom!
