Looking at the ancient country or people - Israel and her 'near neighbors' in yellow - and the Current Name of that same country can help us understand the spiritual nature of the present warfare. In September the United Nations is expected to vote to declare a Palestinian State - in other words - dedicate Israel to the Philistines. Samson, a Nazarite* from his mother's womb', was chided for taking a 'Philistine wife'. The Philistines found out the secret of his strength, and thus weakened, blinded, and imprisoned him. But in the end his strength returned and Samson, knowing it meant his own death, brought the house down on the Philistines. 'So the dead that he killed at his death were more than he had killed in his life. ' [Judges 13-16]
* Nazarite: consecrated to the service of God; under vow
* Nazarite: consecrated to the service of God; under vow
One might consider Jerusalem, in the light of Samson, rough around the edges, but called as 'Nazarite' from the 'mother's womb' - - Revelation 7 fulfilling that vow. There is a cry for justice but there is yet a waiting for the final number to be completed:
Revelation 6
9 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had
..been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held.
Starting with the apostles [see post #2], slain for the word of God and for the testimony for which they held - - waiting for the number to be complete - 144,000 of like kind - Nazarite - the great revival - before the house comes down.
11 Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should
....rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their
....brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.
