TRUE DEVOTION

Thinking about devotion - - a note from friend (NW) - - on EGO that I had not heard before - but is so true:

“Like Jesus we can say, for the joy that is set before us, anything less than complete adoration comes from ego. (Ease God Out)”...

Something to think about regarding devotion: We say we are devoted to Christ - - that is - - -until lust of the flesh rises up and makes known it’s desire. Man, this is what I want for MY life.

ALL the apostles were devoted - -even Judas who had concern for the poor. But their devotion was exposed at the cross. Judas sold out. Peter denied him, others sought safety - - But after the resurrection –and receiving the Holy Spirit – they returned.

Devotion is not devotion - -until it meets the cross.

What are we willing to sell out our obedience to the Word for?
Do we need to repent?
Do we need to consider Christ and the apostles? His disciples?
Do we
Ease God Out’ when the Word rubs against something ‘we want’?
[the latest 'amusement item'? a divorce? a new partner? ministry that appears spiritual (talking the talk, but not really walking the walk?]
God help us all.
