Sexual Immorality - 1

When thinking about the end from the beginning - in the beginning God created the earth, and he created man in His image to bear offspring in His image.

Genesis 1:
27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him;
....male and female He created them.
28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, "Be fruitful and multiply;
....fill the earth and subdue it...

When reading the book of Revelation and of those who will 'partake' of the lake of fire, burning with fire and brimstone,

Revelation 21
6 And He said to me, "It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End.
..I will give of the fountain of the water of life freely to him who thirsts.
7 He who overcomes shall inherit all things, and I will be his God and he shall be My son.
8 But the fearful, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers,
...idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns
...with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

The first listed are the 'fearful and unbelieving' - those who do not walk according to faith in / of Jesus Christ. Then the abominable and murderers. The word abominable is found only twice - once above and in Romans as 'abhorring idols':

Romans 2:22
You who say, "Do not commit adultery," do you commit adultery?
[moicheuo: any unlawful intercourse according to Scripture]
You who abhor idols, do you commit sacrilege?
Sacrilege: hierosyleō - 'do you hesitate to 'rob the temple,
to plunder 'the shrine' of its idol (do you hesitate to forsake adultery)?

Do we hesitate to have our 'idol' removed from our life, our temple? The word 'murderers' is not so much for the one 'without God', but for the one with God. Don't resort to murder to save your own life.

1 Peter 4:14-15
14 If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and
....of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.
15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, a thief, an evildoer, or as a busybody
....in other people's matters.
16 Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in this matter.

Sexual immorality is transliterated:
πορνεία porneia por-ni'-ah
1. illicit sexual intercourse
...1. adultery, fornication, homosexuality, lesbianism, intercourse with animals etc.
...2. sexual intercourse with close relatives; Lev. 18
...3. sexual intercourse with a divorced man or woman; Mark. 10:11,
2. metaph. the worship of idols
...1. of the defilement of idolatry,
......as incurred by eating the sacrifices offered to idols

1Thessalonians 4
3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should
..abstain from sexual immorality πορνεία porneia por-ni'-ah;
4 that each of you should know how to possess his own vessel in
..sanctification and honor,
5 not in passion of lust, like the Gentiles who do not know God;
6 that no one should take advantage of and defraud his brother in this
..matter, because the Lord is the avenger of all such, as we also
..forewarned you and testified.
7 For God did not call us to uncleanness, but in holiness.
8 Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God,
..who has also given us His Holy Spirit.

But when sexual immorality is spoken of in reference to the lake of fire, the second death another word is used:
πόρνος pornos

1. a man who prostitutes his body to another's lust for hire
2. a male prostitute
3. a man who indulges in unlawful sexual intercourse, a fornicator
   

Sorcerer's (all forms of witchcraft), idolaters, and all who practice a lie have 'their part' in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone. God loves man, but hates the sin. His desire is that all men come to repentance and that none perish [2Peter 3:9].

After listening to Michael Brown's broadcast listed below, my thought was that if the world gets to a 'pornos' state, His original plan to create and fill the earth with men in His image would then be complete. Those remaining would not hold Godly values and thus be subject to destruction. With the world applauding values that are not 'Christ', how short is time?
