WALKING with God

HEBREW is a wonderful language as it is able to unfold and reveal the essence of our Creator and Lord - JESUS [Col 1:15-18].    It's witness and meaning is never lost as it is imbedded and preserved in His living Word -  revealing our living God [Rom 1:4].

Just as in Genesis 1, the first word 'B'RESHIT'  [in the BEGINNING] - reveals God's covenant relationship with His people - the word WALK - HaLaK -  is an active part of that relationship revealing the JOURNEY -LeKaH of the  'BRIDE -KaLaH of the Lamb' [Rev 21].

HaLaK  has its beginning in 'a river' - the Hiddekel  [Genesis 2:14] and carries the meaning of
GOING TOWARD - or  'LEAVING and GOING TOWARD suggesting a  'forward and flowing movement'.  The verse numbers suggest 'the relationship of heirs'.

And the name of the third river is Hiddekel: that is it which goeth toward the east of Assyria.
And the fourth river is Euphrates..

Hiddekel is a word meaning 'rapid', moving swiftly - as an arrow going toward its mark.
The Hiddekel (Tigris) is mentioned in conjunction with the Euphrates - 'fruitfulness'.
In Hebrew the letter TAV - one of its symbols as a  cross- is defined as 'mark, sign, seal -
salvation'.  'Sin' means to 'miss the mark'.  We are to move swiftly, rapidly, towards the
mark - the cross of JESUS Christ. -leaving sinfulness in the grave.

God the Refuge of His People and Conqueror of the Nations

Psa 46:4  There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God,
The holy place of the tabernacle of the Most High.

Praise to God for His Salvation and Providence

Psalm 65:9  You visit the earth and water it,  You greatly enrich it;
The river of God is full of water...

The River of Life

Rev 22:1  [ The River of Life ] And he showed me a pure river of water of life,
clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb.

Looking at the letters of  WALK - HaLaK - -

WALK -  HaLaK is to observe  JESUS   as He WALKED the gospel in demonstration of
POWER - healing the sick, giving sight to the blind, hearing to the deaf, speech to the
mute, making the lame walk, the lepers cleansed,  casting out demons,  and as a
DISCIPLE - as a BRIDE -  to WALK as  JESUS WALKED.

To be 'more than a conqueror [Rom 8:37]  one must 'behold, look, see, observe JESUS.
'BEHOLDING the LAMB, as He WALKED.  JESUS was / is  RABBI / TEACHER teaching
disciples - - by EXAMPLE.    When He returns He will SUPPRESS all evil inclination,
coming on the clouds (another symbol of KAF ).  Have you ever been in an airplane when
it is rather dark and rainy on the ground.  The plane takes off and climbs and breaks through
the clouds revealing the beautiful sunshine above. A 'cloud suppresses the light above from
below.'  When JESUS returns 'on the clouds' [Matthew 24:30; 26:64; 1Th 4:13 thru 5:11] he
will destroy the wicked causing darkness on the earth and restoring the righteous as
bright and shining.

The second occurrence of HaLaK is Genesis 3:8 after Adam and the woman (named Eve
[life-giver] after this event) had succumbed to sin in the garden.   Recall that JESUS
cursed the fig tree [Mark 11:13-21]  that was not bearing fruit, but 'only had leaves' (which
Adam and Eve clothed themselves with perceiving their nakedness).   Adam and Eve ate
from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil [Gen 2:9; 3:6].  The root of all evil is the
'love of money' being the delusion of provision. [1Tim 6:10].  And you can not serve God
and mammon (wealth personified).  [Mat 6:24; Luk 16:9-13]

'And they heard the voice of the LORD God WALKING in the garden in the cool of the day:
and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God
amongst the trees of the garden.'

The third occurrence is in Genesis 5:22, with Enoch,  the antithesis of Adam and Eve,
whose name means  'dedicated, trained, discipled'.  This is the root word of 'Channukah':
Note John 10:

Then the Chag (Festival) of Channukah took place in Yerushalayim. It was winter
And Rebbe, Melech HaMoshiach [JESUS]   was WALKING around in the Beis Hamikdash
in the area called Ulam Shlomo (Solomon’s Colonnade).

Gen 5:22   And ENOCH WALKED WITH GOD after he begat Methuselah three hundred years,
and begat sons and daughters:

Note that after Enoch 'walked' with God he begat Methuselah:  'man of the dart (arrow)' -
to hit his mark.   Genesis 5:24 tells us:

And ENOCH WALKED WITH GOD: and he was not; for God took him.

Just a note of interest on 'God took him' since most refer to this as a translation / rapture experience.  The Hebrew word 'laqach' is used meaning 'take, receive, fetch, carry away, remove, marry ...'.  It's a common word used 909 times in 32 books. If we are WALKING with JESUS - then:

Col 1:12-14  giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the
inheritance of the saints in the light.  He has delivered us from the power of darkness
and translated us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,  in whom we have
redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.

John 5:24   Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes
in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment,
but has passed from death into life.

Next, in Genesis 6:9, we learn of Noah [NUN-CHET] whose name means REST:
to have ceased (from wickedness), to abide (in God).  God gave Noah's generation REST
sending the flood on the wicked.  By symbol   NUN-CHET   is  'FISH':  offspring / heirs
'CHUPPA':  in CONSUMMATE (married)  LIFE.  Noah found GRACE:  CHET -NUN - -
in the sight of the Lord.  Noah WALKED with God.

These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man
and perfect in his generations,  and NOAH WALKED WITH GOD

The flood account continues in Genesis 8:3 and 8:5 and uses HaLaK in reference
to the flood waters CONTINUALLYdecreasing and abating from the earth.  And next is
Abram [exalted father], Genesis 12:9 journeying, GOING ON [WALKING] TOWARDS the
south (a parched place, but also the right-hand side).

And Avram journeyed, GOING ON still toward the Negev.

Genesis 13:5:  Lot WENT [HaLaK] with Abram also:  Lot's name means 'covering',
a word which lendsitself to 'atonement', WENT, WALKED, with Abram as he WENT.

And Lot [covering]  also, which WENT  with Abram, had flocks, and herds, and tents.

Abram was told by God, Genesis 13:17

Arise, WALK  through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it;
for I will give it unto thee.

To WALK as JESUS WALKED is to
HEI:        'BEHOLD the Lamb, as he WALKED', to observe JESUS THOUGHTS, WORDS,
                and ACTIONS.
LAMED:  is to then DISCIPLE oneself to those same THOUGHTS, WORDS and ACTIONS
KAF:        SUPPRESSING one's evil inclinations, SUBDUING the fleshly appetites,
                thus able to BLESS others.

BEHOLDING the Lamb of God as HE WALKED is to observe JESUS WALKING in the
'power of the Spirit' [LUKE 4:14].  To WALK is to JOURNEY seen within the word HaLaK
being the word 'lecha':  LeKaH.  Not only did Abraham, Isaac and Jacob set themselves
to JOURNEY, but also JESUS [Mat 10:10] sent his DISCIPLES on a JOURNEY.
[Mar 13:34]  For the SON of MAN is as a man taking a far JOURNEY'.  [Luke 15:13]  The
PRODIGAL SON took his JOURNEY to a far country.   The epistles relate Peter, Paul,
and other disciples 'on a JOURNEY.

In doing so, the BRIDE is now revealed as the bearing of offspring / heirs -   KaLaH - as fruitful.

KaLaH  isbeing COMPLETE -   WALKING a personal JOURNEY in  JESUS FOOTSTEPS.
HaLaK  is WALKING,  a JOURNEY - LeKaH in spirit and truth, revealing JESUS and
His BRIDE- KaLaH..

Selah
Shalom!
