In Genesis 8, after Noah's flood, God promised that as long as the earth remained - -so too 'summer and winter'.
Hosea 9:10 “I found ISRAEL like grapes in the wilderness;
I saw your FATHERS AS THE FIRSTFRUITS ON THE FIG TREE in its first season.
But they went to Baal Peor, And separated themselves to that shame;
They became an abomination like the thing they loved.
Luke 21:20 state:
“Now learn this parable from the
FIG TREE: When its branch has
already become tender and puts forth
leaves, you know that summer is near.
When they are already budding,
you see and know for yourselves
that summer is now near.
Proverbs 10:5 He that gathers in summer is a wise son:
but he that sleeps in harvest is a son that causes shame.
Scripture speaks of summer as a 'preparation' time. Isaiah and Jeremiah prophesy of Israel:
'for shouting for your SUMMER FRUITS and for your harvest is fallen.'
'fowls shall SUMMER upon them, and all the beasts of the earth shall WINTER upon them.'
'and as the hasty fruit before the SUMMER, which when he that looks upon it sees,
while it is yet in his hand, he eats it up.'
'the harvest is passed, SUMMER is ended and we are not saved.'
'Even all the Jews returned out of all places whither they were driven,
and came to the land of Judah, to Gedaliah [Jehovah is great], unto
Mizpah [watchtower], and gathered wine and SUMMER fruits very much.'
'the spoiler is fallen upon thy summer fruits and upon thy vintage.'
Dan 2:35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold,
broken to pieces together, and became like the chaff of the
SUMMER threshingfloors; and the wind carried them away,
that no place was found for them: and the stone that smote
the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.
Amos 3:15 And I will smite the WINTER HOUSE WITH THE SUMMER HOUSE;
and the houses of ivory shall perish,
and THE GREAT HOUSES SHALL HAVE AN END, saith the LORD.
Amos 8:1 Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and behold a basket of SUMMER FRUIT.
2 And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of SUMMER FRUIT.
Then said the LORD unto me, THE END IS COME UPON MY PEOPLE ISRAEL;
I will not again pass by them any more.
Micah 7:1 Woe is me! for I am as when they have gathered the SUMMER FRUITS,
as the grapegleanings of the vintage: there is no cluster to eat:
my soul desired the firstripe fruit.
ISRAEL - THE FIG TREE started 'leafing' in 1948. Scripture said SUMMER is near when ISRAEL - THE FIG TREE - starts 'leafing'. Immigration by Jews to Israel started in the 1800's, the leaves manifest in 1948 when Israel was 'conceived' as a nation.
In Hebrew SNOW depicts the 'white linen' clothing of 'the blood of the slain' - MARTYRS. The concordance speaks of WINTER:

In Greek, cheimon - khi-mone' akin to 'channel' meaning a
storm (as pouring rain): stormy or rainy weather, a tempest
SUMMER on the celestial calendar saw Jews returning to Israel 1800's. The HOLOCAUST occurs mid-summer AV & Israel 'made a political nation'. FALL / WINTER cycles are 2015 thru 2051.
WINTER - as the time of BETROTHAL but more so BLASPHEMY would indicated the anti-christ takeover of Jerusalem, walking into the temple and declaring himself God, requiring the worship and the mark of the beast. [Rev 12-18]
Revelation 6 begins the unveiling of 7 seals which precede the 'beginning of TRIBULATION' which begins with the blowing of TRUMPETS [Rev 8].
Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows [Gr: 'odin' birth pangs].
THEN they will deliver you up to TRIBULATION and kill you
Mar 13:8 These are the beginnings of sorrows [birth pangs / dire calamity].
THEN they will deliver you up to TRIBULATION and kill you,
Luk 21:12 But BEFORE all these things, they will lay their hands on you and
PERSECUTE you, DELIVERING YOU UP to synagogues & prisons
You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name's sake.
You will be BETRAYED even by parents and brothers, relatives
and friends; and they will put some of you to DEATH.
The 'first half' of the tribulation [3 1/2] years occurs AFTER the seven seal judgments. The opening of the 7th seal (AFTER a time of persecution / killing of those who have the testimony of Christ) announces the beginning of the blowing of the trumpets - the first half of the tribulation which occurs during the blowing of the first 6 trumpets. If the seven seals weren't 'bad enough' - - the trumpet judgments (wake up call to the church and governments) are - - 7 times worse. The last half of the tribulation - THE GREAT TRIBULATION - begins with the 7th trumpet and concludes with the 7 bowls of wrath - 7 times worse than the trumpets. And yet, there are survivors during this time, because at the 6th bowl judgment God is still calling people to 'REPENT'. So - - - of the beginning of the time of 'great tribulation - occurring AFTER PERSECUTION of Christians and great calamities including 1/3 of mankind killed [7 seals and first 6 trumpets] - - Matthew and Mark state:

16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
20 And pray that your flight may not be in WINTER or on the SABBATH.
21 For then there will be GREAT TRIBULATION, such as has not been
since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved;
but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
Mark 13:18 Pray your flight is NOT in the WINTER.
For in those days there will be TRIBULATION,
such as has not been since the beginning of the creation ...
WINTER is 'a season' spanning time. The SABBATH here is not referring to the weekday Saturday, but a specific 'Sabbath' in conjunction with is 'feast day' during that time: Yom Teruah [trumpets], Yom Kippur [Atonement]. Since, after the 7th trumpet is blown, Revelation announces seeing the 'woman with the moon under her feet', this could be the referral to the SABBATH of Yom Teruah [trumpets] - the new moon spotted designating the 'Sabbath' starting the feast -- has started.
The GREAT TRIBULATION was not in 70AD as both temples were destroyed on 9AV - summer. The HOLOCAUST, although 'a tribulation' and a WINTER event, its inception considered at Shevat [11th month], did not occur 'in Judea', but in Europe.

UNLESS those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the
ELECT'S sake those days will be SHORTENED [Elect: Isaiah 42:1; 45:4; 65:9 & 22]
THEN if anyone says, HERE IS THE CHRIST or 'There!' DO NOT BELIEVE IT!
False christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders
to deceive, if possible, even the ELECT See, I have told you beforehand.

THEY WILL FALL by the edge of the SWORD
AND be led away CAPTIVE INTO ALL NATIONS.
AND JERUSALEM WILL BE TRAMPLED BY THE GENTILES
UNTIL the TIMES OF THE GENTILES are fulfilled.
Note - the people 'fall by the sword' and are 'taken captive into all nations. This is the time that Jerusalem will be trampled 'by Gentiles' under the leadership of Satan / anti-christ.
