Heaven, LOT, SODOM & Gommorah .................. & Changing Water in WINE

When we read the New Testament, the covenant in the blood of Jesus Christ, we learn of the horribleness of sin, but also that God looks at His people through the eyes of Jesus Christ. Through the blood of Christ, righteousness is λογιζομαι logizomai imputed [freely accounted] to us. Amazing. Yet, even so, God writes His law on our heart.

Scriptures testify of the righteousness of the patriarchs, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. But interesting the way we all often view the men and women of the Bible, through the filter of 'knowledge of good and evil', a tree that was not to be eaten of, rather than see righteousness through Christ.

Abraham, [Hebrews 11], lauded as the 'father of faith', was delayed on his way to Canaan, his father Terah [station; (place of) delay] stopping in Haran [
חרן Charan kaw-rawn'] from a root meaning 'to kindle, anger, to be hot, scorched. And where was his faith during the famine Canaan experienced? Arriving in Egypt did his fear place his wife's life in jeopardy or save it? Isaac did to Rebekah what Abraham did to Sarah. Like father, like son? Or God's appointed place and time to show forth a hidden mystery to be revealed in Christ?

And Jacob, through the natural eye, is often preached as a deceiver. Yet his name means to 'supplant (supersede); place under the sole of the foot. With the natural eye it appears 'he reaped what he sowed'. In 'deceiving' his father Isaac to receive the blessing of the first born, was he deceived receiving firstborn Leah, 'weary, impatient, loathe', a weak eyed woman' rather than the 'beautiful' Rachel [ewe lamb; to journey]? Or were both instances a process of the divine plan 'to supplant' in order to establish or reveal Christ and His bride?

Jonah was given a mission to bring Nineveh, a ‘great city’, to repentance. [Genesis 10]
Nimrod [rebellion] was a mighty hunter before the Lord and the beginning of his kingdom was
Babel [confusion] ,
Erech [long],
Accad [subtle]
and
Calneh [fortress of Anu (sky god, god of heaven)]
in the land of
Shinar [country of two rivers].
Out of that land
Asshur [Assyria] [successful, walk straight] founded
Nineveh [abode of Ninus] later dedicated to the goddess
Ishtar [ star
/ Easter] , god(dess) of love, war, and procreation
.................................. (whose cult was sacred prostitution), also called Nin.

[wiki] The Sumerian word NIN (Akkadian pronunciation of the sign: EREŠ) can denote a queen or a priestess, and is often translated "lady". Given elsewhere as translated - queen, mistress, proprietress, lady; lord ... in Assyrian cuneiform. MUNUS.KU = NIN9 has the reading "sister". So Nineveh, much like Abraham and Sarah [princess, noblewoman], also ‘my sister, my spouse’. The ideogram means "house or place of fish,"

For Jonah, Nineveh was a 'three day journey,' Jonah is said 'to flee', often thought of or interpreted as 'running away' from the 'presence of the Lord'. But was he 'running away from God? The word 'flee / ברח barach baw-rakh' is to 'make haste'. Why would Jonah make haste from the 'Lord's presence'? The word for presence, 'payniym' means face, at times translated 'anger'. Jonah 3 agrees with this.

Jonah 3:9
Who can tell if God will turn and repent,
and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?

Jonah,
whose name means 'dove (from the warmth of mating) [a depiction of the Holy Spirit] - is son of Amittai [my truth]. The Holy Spirit guides you into all truth [John 15:26; 16:13]. Jonah made haste to Joppa [beautiful] to catch a ship to Tarshish [yellow jasper]. Jasper is known for its colors of the rainbow, other times gold - covenant symbols. Revelation 4 & 21 speak of jasper as revealing the glorious countenance of one who sits on the throne but also the appearance of the bride's light, the structure of her wall and her first foundation. Jonah must make haste for 'jasper' as it is needed ‘for covering’ to avert the Lord's anger from a rebellious city. This now for Nineveh and also prophetic of Jerusalem as it is written:

Matthew 12:41
The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation,
and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas;
and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.

All the weaving of the generations and their lives culminate in Jerusalem and her relationship with her bridegroom Jesus Christ. . Compare the account of Jonah with Jesus journey. John the Baptist preaches repentance to 'the great city, the holy Jerusalem.' Jesus, a brother Jew in the flesh is identified when the dove is seen resting on Him. As such He comes to Jerusalem as 'brother', she then being His 'sister', and His spouse' [Revelation21]. Nineveh, referred to as the 'house of fish' parallels with Jesus choosing 'fisherman'. Andrew [man], Peter [in Hebrew firstborn, in Greek, rock, stone] and Phillip [fond of horses] are from Bethsaida [house of fish]. Jesus Christ the man [John 19:5], the firstborn [Colossians 1:18], the Rock [1Corinthians 10:4], the Stone [Matthew 21:42], and ‘fond of horses [Revelation 19:11-13]. Jesus said, [Matthew 12:38] no other sign would be given them except that of Jonah and as Jonah was in the belly of the whale three days, so too Christ spoke the same of the days of his death and resurrection.

Which brings us to LOT, SODOM and his TWO DAUGHTERS and WATER and WINE. It is first helpful to consider HEAVEN -its essence so to speak. Heaven is revealed as FIRE and WATER, Sodom as BURNING and SUBMERSION, water and wine [FIRE] of this same essence. :

HEAVEN

eym ............................... #
WATER.............................FIRE

for MANKIND

..........

We know HEAVEN to be 'FIRE and WATER'. God is Spirit [John 4:24] and a consuming fire [Deuteronomy 4:24/Hebrews 12:29]. He is living water [Jeremiah 2:13; 17:13]. John the Baptist says this:

Matthew 3:11
I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance:
but he that comes after me is mightier than I,
whose shoes I am not worthy to bear:
he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

Note, 'who shoes I am not worthy to bear'. Christ, the 'supplanter', God placing all under the 'sole of his feet', having feet shod with the 'peace of the gospel' [Ephesians 6:15], baptizing with the Holy Ghost and with fire.

Matthew 3:12
Whose fan [πτυον ptuon a winnowing shovel] is in his hand,
and he will thoroughly purge his floor,
and gather his wheat into the garner;
but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.

2 Peter 3:4-7 and Jude 1 tells us not to forget the lessons of fire and water. Of Noah and his evil generation - the flood. Of Israel and Egypt as they faced the Red Sea and walked thru the water, following a cloud by day and a fire by night, water from the Rock, fire on the mountain.

2 Peter 3:6-7
Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
But the heavens and the earth, which are now,
by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire
against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

SODOM means 'burning' and
Gomorrah 'submersion'.
As Abraham [the high father] settled in
Canaan [lowland, humble oneself, bend the knee (in worship)],
LOT [covering]
chose to dwell in
Sodom [burning] seeing it was 'well watered'

Christ, the Word made flesh, dwelt in the land of Canaan [to bend the knee in worship] - prevailing as Israel - and Jesus yet again, as did LOT whose name means 'covering. to wrap', choose spiritual SODOM [turning] - - Jerusalem [teaching peace] - that He be her covering. He left her 'well-watered' with His Word. But as Jonah [the dove] who was swallowed by the whale:

Ezekiel 32:2
Son of man, take up a lamentation for Pharaoh king of Egypt,
and say unto him, You are like a young lion of the nations,
and you are as a whale in the seas:
and you came forth with thy rivers,
and troubled the waters with thy feet, and fouled their rivers.

Revelation 11:8
... in the street of the great city,

which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt,
where also our Lord was crucified.

Leaving Sodom requires trusting God with our life as His Word is on our tongue, that we come to worship in spirit and truth. Deliverance from Egypt is to 'repent and be baptized, walk in the water of the Word with righteous faith, having a mind that grasps Messiah Christ.

Jesus Christ, our righteousness. Lot was a righteous man.

2 Peter 2:7-8
And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:
(For that righteous man dwelling among them, in seeing and hearing,

vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds;)

LOT had TWO VIRGIN DAUGHTERS

Why would a 'righteous man' offer his two daughters to be brutally raped? Scripture says his soul was daily vexed by all the abominations. If Lot was a 'God-fearing' man, as the Scripture states, what motivation would he have to offer his own daughters to an abominable sexual act? On the surface it might appear Lot's act of offering his daughters to such a fate returns on his head when they ply him wine and lay with him to conceive offspring. But why would a righteous father offer his daughters to such a horrible act?

GOD HAS TWO VIRGIN DAUGHTERS

Ezekiel 26:2
"Son of man, there were two women, the daughters of one mother.
They committed harlotry in Egypt, they committed harlotry in their youth;
their breasts were there embraced, their virgin bosom was there pressed.

Their names
Oholah: my tent is in her the elder
and Oholibah:
woman of the tent; the tent is in her her sister;
they were Mine ... as for their names,
Samaria [watch mountain] is Oholah,
and Jerusalem [teaching of peace] is Oholibah.

"Oholah [Samaria] played the harlot ...
lusted for her lovers, the neighboring Assyrians ...

with all their idols, she defiled herself.
She has never given up her harlotry
brought from Egypt, for in her youth they had lain with her,
pressed her virgin bosom, and poured out their immorality upon her.

"Therefore I have delivered her Into the hand of her lovers
...
Now although her sister Oholibah [Jerusalem] saw this,
she became more corrupt in her lust than she
... Both took the same way.
"Therefore, Oholibah [Jerusalem], thus says the Lord God:
'Behold, I will stir up your lovers against you ...
a
nd your remnant shall be devoured by fire.

God's two virgin daughters were under His 'covering'. Lot's two virgin daughters were under their father's 'covering'. Virgin: בתולה bethuwlah
: to separate (be holy). As Lot offered his daughters to spare his 'heavenly visitors', Jerusalem did not spare her 'heavenly visitor', God's Son, Jeus Christ, the brutality of immorality / homosexuality. Homosexuality is 'man fearing man, man loving man'. Man was created to fear God, to love God - - not fear man, nor love flesh.

Lot's two virgin daughters, one whose name is revealed in the book of Jasher [the upright] [
Joshua 10:13, 2 Samuel 1:18] as Paltith [an escaped remnant] plied their father with wine, conceiving sons by him, Moab and Ammon. These sons: Moab [from (her [the mother's]) father]; and Ammon [tribal (kinsman)] carried the Seed of the 'Kinsman Redeemer, the line of Messiah -through the Moabitess Ruth [friend] whose offspring produces David [beloved], the Messiah Jesus.

Jerusalem plied Jesus Christ with wine [the wrath of God] conceiving sons by Him, yet today, carrying His Seed.

Ezekiel 16:44-57
"Indeed everyone who quotes proverbs will use this proverb against you:
'Like mother, like daughter!'
You are your mother's daughter, loathing husband and children;
and you are the sister of your sisters, who loathed their husbands and children ...

Your elder sister is Samaria, who dwells with her daughters to the north of you;
and your younger sister, who dwells to the south of you, is Sodom and her daughters.

... Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom:
She and her daughter had pride, fullness of bread, and abundance of idleness;
neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy ...
For your sister Sodom was not a byword in your mouth in the days of your pride,
before your wickedness was uncovered.

Do we as 'church' heed this warning, 'pride, fullness of bread [the Word], and abundance of idleness? Do we strengthen the hand of the poor and needy - offer the lost the message of Jesus Christ?

WATER and WINE

At the wedding feast of Cana, why did Jesus turn WATER into WINE? Why wasn't it 'Jesus time' for that? Jesus came to 'save man, not condemn.

Psalm 109:31
For he shall stand at the right hand of the poor,
to save him from those that condemn his soul.

John 3:17
For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world,
but that the world through Him might be saved.

Water and WINE are seen from two (or more) perspectives. The Hebrew letter MEM is seen as a 'fountain of WATER' and water is viewed as WISDOM. Ephesians 5:26 commands us to 'wash with the WATER of the WORD'. The Hebrew letter SHIN is FIRE and God's Word is also known as FIRE.

Jeremiah 23:9
Is not my word like as a fire? saith the LORD;
and like a hammer that breaketh the rock in pieces?

As WATER gives 'growth' as well as life support, FIRE purifies. What burns in a fire is perishable, likened to vanity / corruptible. What 'comes through a fire' is purified, incorruptible. To 'drink water' is to 'drink the Word of God' - to be refreshed with the 'waters of life' [Revelation 21:6], the living Word, living water of God. . WINE - יין yah'-yin from an unused root meaning to effervesce, to 'boil up' - in the Greek οιoV\n oinos oy'-nos referring back to the Hebrew but adding 'fiery wine of God's wrath'.

WINE has a 'fiery' quality. It's effervescence signifies that which is 'lively'. Wine, when drunk by men, will make clear the 'impurity' within. Take note of a drunkard. Jesus came as WATER - He is returning as WINE - a WRATH that will PURIFY the earth, purging all evil. As He said to His mother, 'My time has not yet come'.

Hebews 9:28
So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many;
and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time
without sin unto salvation [saving health].

His presence as the Word made flesh was of WATER, to save men, not condemn. When He comes as WINE, no evil will stand in His sight.
When Jesus took the cup of wine, it's 'effervescence' signified a 'passion for life', to be on 'fire for God'. A fire that even death can not put out. To be 'drunken' shakar shaw-kar' means to be 'filled with drink'. Jesus was 'filled with drink', drinking the ultimate cup of WINE, of FIRE, the 'WRATH of God' against sin, for all mankind'. [Esther 7:7; Revelation 14:8 -10; 16:19; 18:3]. Men should not be given over to 'wrath' lest that wrath be against sin.

When Jesus turned 'water into wine' at the wedding feast, the stewards noted the 'best wine was saved til last'. As Christ 'took the cup of wine', and drank it, so too, their is a 'surviving remnant', sealed with their Father's name (the best wine saved til last), that will stand under the brutal, lawless wrath of man as Christ stood, not loving His life to the death. And they will overcome by the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony, and not loving their lives to the death. [Revelation 11, 12].

Selah,
Shalom
