HELL is mentioned in the OT approximately 65 times. The Hebrew word is 'Sheol' - lw)# - and you will find it translated as HELL 31x, ..GRAVE 31x, ..PIT 3x. It is mentioned in the NT approximately 12 times as gheh'-en-nah.

The first letter 'SHIN # ' in the sense of TEETH denotes 'sharpness'. A 'tooth' is able to 'pierce'. SHIN as FIRE depicts what is 'all-consuming'. Both the 'tooth' and 'fire' produce a CHANGE, that then becomes 'changeless'. Once food has experience decomposition by the tooth, it supplies the body, and is then eliminated in 'another form' that is then 'changeless'. Once fire consumes an object, what is lasting remains, what is temporal is consumed. We previously discussed the letter SHIN in relation to LEX TALIONIS [post 34 7-5-11].
Hence HELL, 'has its beginning' built on 'retaliation' - as a place of PUNISHMENT - where offenses receive 'what is due'. It appears to be the principle of 'motion' based on 'consummation', what you choose to 'become one' with.
To every action there is always an equal and opposite reaction: or the forces of two bodies on each other are always equal and are directed in opposite directions. A more direct translation than the one just given above is:

A NAIL is for the purpose of 'CONNECTING'; to join together. You are 'connected' to whoever you 'join yourself' with. If you join yourself with Jesus, Jesus says:

.....19 Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners,
.........but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God,

Note that the church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets. I see no instance of the apostles or prophets living a sinful life, living in immorality, divorcing their wives and taking another, etc. We should be looking more closely at the apostles and prophets. God is not 'grading on a curve'. It is Christ in us - - or not.
The last letter LAMED is known as the 'shepherd's staff' or HEART. Both are for the ability of 'guiding'. We learn by guidance. We also 'teach' by guidance. A 'heart' is one that 'understands knowing', not in the sense of intellect, but of experiential consummation. The 'heart' beats to 'what it knows' to what it has consummated with - bottom line - holiness or wickedness.

HELL depicts a 'willing consummate relationship' - with 'its' spirit by 'willingly submitting' - not by force, not by rape, but by one's own desire for 'what one wants'. The 'law' of Spirit in life in Christ' is 'keeping His commandments'. The law of hell is 'fulfill your lusts' at your own and others expense.

.....among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh,
.....fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature
.....children of wrath, just as the others.
.....Galatians 5:16
.....I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Just as in the 'law of motion' we are seeing both the picture of 'heaven and hell' (in motion). HELL presents the picture of 'knowingly joining and submitting to - becoming one with - a force of destruction' that produces a then 'changeless' essence or end. You become one with that which you consummate with - a blood covenant to the 'death'.
Jesus Christ, in consummate knowledge, became 'connected / joined' in flesh, and submitted to 'being pierced, taking 'lex talionis' - the punishment of death and destruction upon Himself. And as the glory of the Father dwelt in Him (the living Word made flesh] [Romans 6:4; John 1:14] - - a greater force, a greater power, the power of heaven., the power of life, greater than the power of 'sheol', overcame death, allowing man to 'reverse direction' and apprehend heaven. THIS POWER [Romans 8:11] is the power to 'raise the dead' - to heal the mortal body. This is the consummate power of 'Christ in you', the hope of glory.
You will hear one say, 'I didn't know what I was doing'. A more correct interpretation would be 'I knew what I was doing - I did not realize the full extent of the consequences for what I was doing'. We have all been there on that one.
HELL is a 'relationship of the heart, connected to and knowingly submitted to 'a sovereign power'.

I found several interesting thoughts in this description of viceroy.
First, the thoughts on 'viceroy': a 'viceroy' exercises authority (authorship) in behalf of a sovereign king. Christ came as 'viceroy', exercising authority in behalf of His Father, the sovereign King. IF we choose Christ as the author and finisher of our faith [Hebrews 12:2] we have a 'consummate relationship' a 'wife relationship' with God, with heaven - with Christ our King. A king is a RULER. God says, 'you love me IF you DO my commandments. [John 14:15; 21; 15:10; Romans 13:9; 1John 3:22; 5:2-3; 2John 1:6; Revelation 22:14]. IF Jesus Christ RULES our life, we will be seen as DOING HIS WILL. If Satan, the devil, is our MASTER, our KING, our RULER - we will be SEEN doing his will. If we belong to Christ, yet DO Satan's will - -and do not walk in repentance - -who then is our Master? And then, is that not adultery? When God forgave the woman in adultery, she did not return to adultery, she walked in repentance, DOING the will of God. When God forgave the thief on the cross, both thieves had reviled him. One repented. Repentance is key. To 'sin no more' is key. Let your conscience be your guide.

21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us , we have confidence toward God.
22 And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments
....and do those things that are pleasing in His sight.
I also found the picture of the butterfly interesting as that has been used as a picture of 'resurrection life' - starting out as a caterpillar who is earthbound and transforming into a butterfly now free to fly the heavens. This butterfly is 'orange and black', the traditional colors of 'Halloween', the celebration of death. The 'adult mimics the unpalatable monarch': Unpalatable means, 'difficult to tolerate or accept; not pleasant to the taste'. Family of Nymphalidae: actual meaning is large beautifully colored butterflies - but the root word 'nymph' means: a spirit of nature; a form that does not change greatly as it grows; a dragonfly; a locust.
Romans 10:
..8 But what does it say? "The word is near you, in your mouth
....and in your heart" (that is, the word of faith which we preach):

GOD does not 'throw people into hell'. JESUS CHRIST is the 'express image' of God. Jesus came to save the world not condemn the world [John 3:17]. He has given man a free will to 'choose' whom he will serve, whom he will consummate with, become 'one' with. It is by the relationship WE OURSELVES CHOOSE, by fulfilling our OWN 'heart's desire'. Actions speak louder than words. You can not live as the world lives, and expect to gain heaven.
